The "Daily Mail" reported, citing the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), that "Ford" is recalling 741,195 vehicles from the American market due to a transmission defect.
The report issued by the administration clarified that the defect could cause the vehicle to move unexpectedly even after stopping, increasing the risk of accidents or injuries.
This affects specific models of Navigator and Expedition vehicles from model years 2018–2021, Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models from 2020–2021, as well as the F-150 pickup truck model year 2021. Official dealers will update the transmission software for free, inspect components, and replace damaged parts if necessary.
The second campaign includes 36,046 Bronco SUVs, due to the instability of the wheel arch extension accessories. These components may detach while driving, increasing the risk of accidents.
In a related context, "Ford" has rehired 350 experienced engineers whom it had previously laid off, after the artificial intelligence system failed to address quality issues, causing financial losses.
The company's management admitted that it had increasingly relied on artificial intelligence, but it did not achieve the desired results.
